Overview
Nexvii is a random video chat platform that connects strangers peer-to-peer. We process as little data as technically possible.
- No registration — there is no account, username, or password.
- No permanent profile — we do not build or keep a user profile about you.
- No ordinary chat history — text chat is sent peer-to-peer and is not stored by Nexvii as chat history.
- No intentional recording — your normal audio or video is not recorded or stored by Nexvii.
What is processed
- Temporary session identifiers — a random ID is created per connection so we can route signaling. It is not linked to a permanent identity.
- Country code — an approximate country code from Cloudflare's edge network metadata is used for the optional country filter. No GPS, no precise location.
- Anti-bot metadata — limited rate-limit and abuse-score counters help protect the service.
- Connection metadata — match state and technical logs may exist temporarily for operation and security.
- Infrastructure processing — internet infrastructure (Cloudflare, your ISP) may process IP and network metadata as required to deliver the connection.
How connections work
Nexvii uses WebRTC peer-to-peer technology. Audio, video, and text chat flow directly between participants where possible. The server only facilitates the initial connection (signaling) and never receives your media content.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not require GPS or precise geolocation.
- We do not intentionally store ordinary chat messages.
- We do not build advertising profiles.
Data retention
Temporary operational data expires automatically (see our Data Retention page). Technical logs are ephemeral and rotated.
Important limitations
Nexvii cannot prevent the other participant from recording their own screen or taking screenshots. We do not claim that conversations are impossible to capture.
